My wife Sharon and I

I have always had a heart for youth. This stems from the struggles I faced and the mistakes I made when young. My desire in life is to help young people find a true relationship with Jesus Christ and therefore not make the same costly mistakes that I have.

I taught Sunday school at Redeemer Lutheran church in Redwood City for 2 years and ended up leaving because of the lack of an actual youth program in which I could serve. From there, I went on to PBC in Palo Alto and was asked to head up the youth worship team. I taught and was active in other youth activities, working closely with Brent Becker, the youth pastor. This is where I found my true passion to serve young people. During this time I also taught 1st to 5th grade level children in Bible Study Fellowship until leaving the program to focus on my new marriage to Sharon.

When we met, Sharon was employed with Younglife. This only fueled my desire to work with youth. I loved the trips to Woodleaf, a Younglife camp, and all the interaction that we shared with the organization. Sharon said that I was more disappointed than she was when her employment at Younglife ended. At one point early in our marriage, Sharon aked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. When I told her that I always wanted to be a pastor, she said "do it" and in 2005 I earned my Bachelor Degree in Church Ministry and became a licensed pastor. Sharon is now employed as a nursing instructor at Mission college, a position that she thoroughly enjoys. She has the opportunity to share her faith and has been asked to be a sponsor of the on campus "Christian Club". She sings with the worship team and is a leader in the womens ministry at Campbell Community Church. It is clear by the direction that my life has taken since we met, that God has hand picked Sharon to be my bride.

When the youth program was re-organized at PBC, the youth band was discontinued and I joined the worship team under the leadership of Clif Payne. I was one of the founding members of Clif's band "Common Culture", playing bass for the group.

After leaving PBC I attended Abundant Life for a short period. In October of 2006, Clif Payne asked me to play bass for the worship team at Campbell Community Church for one month. It was clear to me on the first day I showed up for practice that the Holy Spirit wanted me to stay. Glenn and I talked for hours that first night about my desires. I was overwhelmed by the passion of his heart and knew right away that I wanted to serve with this man. After many more lengthy discussions, it was clear that God had placed me here to start a youth program. In June of 2007 the Internet Cafe was born. A few months later, I left Common Culture to focus all my efforts to youth ministry.

Recently, my step-son Jeremy has joined the team and is working along side me. This allows me time to study to become a certified Youth and Family Counselor.

The Lord has truly blessed me beyond all expectations. Even with the struggles of ministry and everyday life, I have never been happier than I am now. It is pure joy, being engrossed in His service. May all the glory and honor be His, because He leads me moment by moment, blessing me all the way.

Since my youth, O God, You have taught me,

and to this day I declare your marvelous deeds.

Even when I am old and gray, do not forsake me, O God,

'till I declare your power to the next generation,

Your might to all who are to come.
